Hi, I'm Hanzi Zhu (朱汉子), also known as hzzhu.
I am a backend and infrastructure engineer who likes small, reliable systems and clear operational paths. Most of my work sits around service architecture, DevOps, containers, databases, and the practical details that keep software running well.
Focus
- Backend services and service-oriented architecture
- DevOps workflows, deployment, observability, and automation
- Containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes
- Reliable data systems with MySQL and PostgreSQL
- Cloud infrastructure, especially common AWS building blocks
Toolbox
I work most often with Python, Go, C, shell scripts, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS. I am also learning Rust more seriously, mostly because I enjoy its bias toward explicitness and durable software.
Background
I hold a Master’s degree in Mechanical Design from Hefei University of Technology, where my research focused on robot dynamics and analytical modeling. That background still shapes how I think about engineering: model the system, understand the constraints, then simplify the moving parts.
